G'day all, just bit the bullet and bought a new HPI Blitz from the boys down at RC Garage after having nothing but Nitro's for years, still got 3 LST's and a GV Dominator! Anyways, I would appreciate some advice on a motor upgrade for the Blitz and any recommendations you may have. Is there a motor upgrade that's not brushless or is brushless and lipo's the only way to go? Thanks............

Why waste money on brushed when you'll eventually go BL anyway. Cut out the middleman.

welcome to the mad house, well i have the blitz and have had it for 5 months or so and its a great unit, the 5700kv & esc that comes in the firestorm from hpi bolts right in there and you are away with a powerfull engine and lots of fun to be had....
Two things come to mind and that is to make sure the servo saver is tight and the spring is firm or the steering in the blitz is bad if the servo saver spring is too loose and the diff does leak as the oil ring seal that comes in the truck is not the best but just nees to be replaced with a better fitting o ring and you are done readyfor lots of fun and games.
Check out my you tube channel for videos of things this little truck can do and im sure you will be amazed it is built tonka tough

Thanks a heap guys, and thanks for the welcomes.....much appreciated! I guess its brushless then! I have had a look at your madness with your Blitz Savagesam....they are a pretty good bit of kit for the $$$ and Bryan down at RC Garage said you punish yours on a regular basis with no major hassels. BTW, how long are your average run times on the lipo's? I'm averaging around 15-20 minutes with 3300 nimh which I dont think is to bad at all. Thanks again lads, Paul....

Well the run times for a 5000 30c lipo is about 26-28 minutes but you have twice the power to play with....awsome the only thing i have broken is the rear bumper mount twice but concrete and 35 foot jumps dont go together real well but other wise it has been the best $$$ for $$$ rc product i have ever owned......hands down

Thanks again Savagesam, much appreciated! I will head down and see if the lads at RC Garage have the parts I need to convert the Blitz. The run times on the Lipo's are much better than I expected to so I'm sold, then it will be down to Lilydale BMX track to see what I can break!!! LOL.
Thanks to everyone else for the reply's
